@anotak @TipsyTentacle haha yeah, it's a favourite location, since it's so striking. so much stuff gets shot in Van, it's a fun game we play to id stuff we see in shows. there's even an excellent youtube piece about it on Every Frame A Painting called "Vancouver Never Plays Itself":

@TipsyTentacle @anotak I live in new west, and within 2 blocks of my place it seems like they are constantly filming CW shows. sometimes it's boring and you don't get to see anything, but the other week Supergirl was there in amongst busted police cars and rubble, so that was pretty rad. 😉
@anotak @TipsyTentacle haha yeah. it's so common. the SFU campus on Burnaby Mountain is a choice spot for that kind of thing, people often recognize it as "Caprica" from BSG, but it has played many many roles.
@nergdron yea, i definitely always recognize that one. it's the planet tollana from SG1, and the place where mulder meets "deep throat" in the x-files.
@nergdron @TipsyTentacle i watch tons of trashy science fiction. i'm pretty sure like 90% of it gets shot in vancouver, so i keep seeing the same buildings over and over.
can't count how many times i've seen some mildly-rainy near-vancouver forest as an "alien planet"
