I have been pondering the possibility of a deliberately-ephemeral instance where all posts are deleted after a certain amount of time. Mastodon-meets-snapchat.
@lambdagrrl It's an interesting idea, but would federation break that? Can one instance guarantee that it's messages get deleted from another?
If you didn't federate, that would be an option.
@krueger Well, there wouldn't be anything to stop someone running a "bad faith" instance that refused to delete stuff. But so far as I can tell, deletions ought to be propagated throughout the fediverse.
