Things to consider when hugging:
Is the hug soft, firm, a big squeeze? How long will you hold on for? What angle are you hugging from? Are your arms at shoulder height, chest height, stomach height? Should you pin their arms for total hug power, or leave them free but potentially feeling awkward if they're not in a position to hug back? Can you hold onto them and sway a little?
Probably if I actually got to hug people then I wouldn't be overthinking it.
I think it's because in the absence of physical touch, I'm trying to make the perfect hug in my mind, so that I can raise my expectations too high for if I reach a point when hugs are possible.
I didn't even mean to be talking about this beyond the first two posts, and I am not sure if I really want to be continuing.
