I have this vision for task management in my head. I want to be able to view all my known tasks, current and future, at once. At least the important ones, in a summary. They're in a stack? And I slide out the ones I'm working on?
The tasks are assigned to dates, or else they're just "wishlist" tasks floating off in the distance, at the top of the stack I guess. I can view them in a calendar if I need to, but the most important view is the stack view, where I can see what's most pressing.
@Skirmisher a friend from college had a slightly similar feeling and wanted to make an event calendar view inspired by the Bomber's Notebook from Majora's Mask, which he had just played and completed for the first time (instead of doing coursework...).
events assigned to different people or entities, each with their own row, top down in priority order; timeline goes sideways.
don't think he ever got to implementing it though. :(
@lifning @Skirmisher do you mean a stack like a first in, last out data structure, or visually a list of items on top of each other?
@ikea_femme @lifning My stack is roughly ordered first-in-last-out, but the order is determined by priority, and I can pull ones from the middle of the stack if need be. The visual is the important part to me, just being able to see all my impending tasks at a glance.
