I'm kind of disappointed by a couple of things on Mariokart for Nintendo Switch. The 2-player screen is split vertically instead of horizontally so you can never see where you're going when you turn. There is no like manual or text explanation or anything for features so I had to read an online gamers tutorial just to figure out that yes, that WAS steer assist and this is how you turn it off.
Also the character class is reversed for this, so heavier players are faster and I'm completely used to the opposite.
Lastly what the hell is up with the skintones for mii characters? It's been a while since I made one but I recall being able to look realistic brown and not just various shades of lobster red.
@guerrillarain that's fucked up
@guerrillarain oh yeah! I was finding it very strange how it moved, and then found out about steering assist (there's also an auto accelerate apparently).
@ebel yeah it's automatically turned on and the fact that it's not labeled and there's no booklet? It took me a couple of races to be like "that definitely wasn't me!!"
@guerrillarain yep. And the tilt controller to stear thing messed with my head as well.
"why am I turning left? I'm not pressing anything"
There are some other features and options with no title that I engaged and removed, unsure what they do. Also just a personal aside but I'm thoroughly annoyed that now, even if you aren't in 1st place, you can still be hit by blue shells and red shells and thunder bolts can and do smack you out of the sky now.
