I started going by "Ghost Bird" on Twitter a few years ago. Gender feels, plus the never-ending shitstorms made me want to be something small and quick and barely visible. (It's a nickname for the protagonist of "Annihilation", who's a woman. So, something indeterminate and evasive that's secretly feminine. Yes, I overthink a lot.)

Now Ghost Bird doesn't seem right any more - my femininity is less secret and I feel more secure.
I picked The Leewit on a whim. She's another fictional character - a stubborn little witch girl who you don't want to annoy - though, again, it's more about liking the name than identifying with the character.
(Also @the_leewit was available when I wanted to change my Instagram username. Look me up if you like.)
