i asked if anyone wanted to hang out and glue/paint/give advice on minis in my gaming club fb group and someone called me "ma'am" and offered to send me twitch links shut it down
@ebeth I have some lovely students I work with who call me 'ma'am' and I just--just. Idek.
@likecroft ugh right? it's one of my least favorite things to be called i hate it so much
sometimes i get called ma'am at the library but like there i'm at least in customer service mode and expecting people to say weird things to me. definitely do not expect it from someone vaguely overlapping with my social circle
@ebeth I work with grad students, too, so half the time it's like--I'm not even *that* much older than y'all.
Now, if they called me "Ser," that might be awesome.
