unpopular opinion but, as a trans man I am Done™ with anti-male posts & rhetoric. I 100% get why people make them and they can keep doing it but I am, as an act of self-care, going to keep unfollowing or blocking people who post that shit. I did NOT spend more than a decade hating myself and another one coming to terms w/ it and then jumping thru hoops for gatekeepers so I could be shut down and excluded from the conversation because of my gender. 1/?

Like I said, I get why people (mostly women I think) say that stuff. Cis men do awful shit on the regular, and trans men aren't immune to it either. I wish men didn't do all that goofy stuff too! I'm gay as hell! I wanna kiss the cute boys but they keep saying the most uninformed junk imaginable! Still, I think most people don't mean to be assholes. They just don't know any better - and there's a Lot of us, especially trans men, that are actively trying 2/?

to be good, and to have that invalidated because we're men can be really disheartening. Following a lot of people saying anti-male stuff on tumblr for a year or two quite literally made me think "maybe I should have stayed a woman after all if being woke is only possible with a femme tag".
On top of that, I feel like because this is the most extreme side that "normal" people see of feminism, it can turn them off on it really easily. 3/?
