I spent the entire climax of Black Panther feeling like I wanted to cheer for Killraven. I had to exert serious effort to not boo when he died.
Pretty good movie for a genre I normally avoid - I think this raises the count of Marvel films I’ve seen to three.
Also I had to restrain myself from hollering something about “sure does suck to be on the receiving end of that non-interventionist bullshit, huh” when the Traditionalist Gorilla-Themed Tribe refused to give T’Challa any help beyond a place to have a coma until the Magic Purple 1-Up got brought to him.
I am perfectly aware that Killraven would happily put my rich white lady ass up against the wall, were his revolution to come. I was still not rooting for the Panther’s struggle to maintain the status quo.
@anthracite I feel like this is what makes him such a good villain. He had some really good points. He was also wrong about some things and those things were pretty fundamental. But, yeah.
Also, side note: Is "Killraven" an autocorrupt artifact or something? AFAIK, his name is Killmonger (well, among others).
