@BadWrongFun what are you playing? want to tell us about your character? (or did I miss it?)
@BadWrongFun Neat! I'm not deep in Gundam lore but I've wanted to try a Mecha RPG with feeeelings. It'll probably use Girl By Moonlight (a hack for blades in the dark) because that's the latest hotness with my gamer peeps.
@aprrrl I've never heard of that. I need to look into it. Though if you do run that game, please invite me!
@BadWrongFun Okay! Are you in the SF Bay Area or do you mean online? I might try running a one-shot. I just ran the magical girls version of it this past Sunday and that was fun -- I haven't tried the mecha version
@aprrrl Oh god, I wish I was in SF.
I definitely meant online.
@BadWrongFun Okay, I'll put it on my masto rpg queue! first I owe Crom a game of No Country for Old Kobolds :)
@aprrrl I went full with the silly anime names: Olso Omicron.
Idea is basically she's space colonist (and former repair woman) out for revenge after her home got destroyed by an attack from Zeon. Lost family, no home to go back to, nothing left to lose. Had be very hands on and direct. loud. Figured that sort of action movie type character would fit with what the GM is going for.
For funsies I wanna play off how she's lived in the colonies all her life for laughs since the game is set on Earth. Like shivering her ass off and being confused when she actually sees snow for the first time. For example. Make her a fish out of water.
@BadWrongFun ha, fun! shivering, sneezing from allergies, spooked by pigeons, etc :)
@aprrrl Oh, it's Battle Century G. Like it's a rule lite-mid sorta mecha (though I've seen it used for fantasy, magical girls, tanks, even Persona) game based inspired by Super Robot Wars. Actually has a free system reference document to try it out.
But we're doing a Gundam campaign set in the One Year War. Federation squad fighting in Canada. Very 08th MS Team.
