@aprrrl @ghost there's an observation I came across somewhere--maybe Mastodon, maybe Twitter, I don't remember well enough unfortunately--about all these hand-wringing pieces in "Forbes" and "Business Insider" and all these other ultracapitalist rags about how millennials are killing industries. the point was this: the capitalists thought they had us fucking _clocked_. They were wrong, and they're pissed.

@ghost @aprrrl they thought all they needed to do to get us to buy their crap was Internet-this and meme-that and "viral marketing"-the other, and it's not working. partly cos you can't squeeze blood from a fucking stone, but also because, hey, just because we spend our lives on Twitter making each other laugh with inane image macros doesn't mean we're _suckers_.
