Person 1: How do I make <thing on a video or an audio file> on Linux?

Person 2: Just use ffmpeg.

Ffmpeg's manual: G̴̢̛̱͒̍͆̐̑̈́͒ͅI̵̝̬̲͕̔͒͗̓̽̔V̵̧̛͈͔̦͉̥̞͓͎̞̗͂͐͜E̸̥̳̠̱̲̟̩̅̓̂̂̈͑̐̀͊͑͆͠ ̸̖̣͔̥̆̅̓̍̐̔U̴̯̣͋P̵̨͚͉̥̳͋̌͋͌ ̶̭͙̤̣̯̉̂͗ͅẢ̷̢͓͇̳̹̼͚̘͗̽̈̋͌L̴̹̟͇͇̯̼͉̽̌́͌̚̕Ḽ̶̨̮͓͓̠͕͖͋͛͜ ̸̢̨̩̫̳̹͕̥̗̝̉̽̎͘H̴̢͓̫͍̞̋́͗̏͂̽̓̚O̸̝̫̲̱͘P̵̮̩̦͔̲͚̏̂͗̅̎̈̀̈́́̕͝E̶̛̻̳̳͎̩̹̠͈̒́̐͒̄̊̈́̆̑̚͘

@Sylvhem ffmpeg has a manual that's not googling something vaguely related to the problem and looking for the appropriate stack overflow answer?

@elomatreb @Sylvhem hey, the other option is to hop over to the ffmpeg irc channel to ask questions - the folks there are usually helpful (I hang out there myself).

But yeah, not an easy tool to learn from scratch.

Sylvhem @Sylvhem

@kepstin Thank you for the tips! I may do that next time I will need to use ffmpeg :).
