Okay, twice in two weeks I've run into "I wasn't being offensive, you are" when calling someone out on being offensive?
And so... just a general reminder that it's not on you to decide if something you said was offensive. You can decide if it was MEANT to offend, but not whether it did. The appropriate thing to do when called out is apologize and reflect on what you said. If you don't see it, you can ask for an explanation, but remember that it's not the job of marginalized people to educate you when you have google.

It is hard to remove offensive words from your vocab! I struggle with it, even with words close friends have TOLD me hurt them. I make up for this by trying to proofread everything I post (at least in places where I can do that), and apologizing and removing offensive posts if something slips through.
It is the least I can do to avoid hurting my friends.
