"Government name" is a much more accurate term than "real name" IMO.

Wallet name versus what?
Lets see, I have a dead name, a performer name (that will be a dead name?), dead patronymic and surname legal/government name, escort name (that will be a dead name), and a general(anarchist?) name
Like if I said wallet namr it'd most likely refer to like what I'm most known as, what I use with me most often which.... I dunno, would be my performer name?
@varx @CursedConfetti I can't speak for the person who brought it up, but yeah, basically. The name that's on your official documentation just because bureaucracy.
@CursedConfetti @Zero_Democracy Wallet name as in "what's on your ID card". Basically synonymous with government name, if I understand correctly.
Versus... well, all other names that aren't the same as it, right? In my case, my Dreamwidth username and my AIM username, which are the sort of names some people in my social circles use in meatspace conversation.
And nicknames and SCA names and stage names and etc.
