Random but: does anyone know of any cute summer sun hats for afros? I want those big floppy hats but I'm scared my afro won't fit under one...
@guerrillarain Ok! So i don't have an afro, but I have very thick and big hair, What I do is just buy a hat one or two sizes to big and use it, that way my hair fits under it! I love floppy summer hats <3
@guerrillarain Yeah, I always go to the store when I buy mine, lol. The real hassle is trying to find wigs that fit my hair under them! I wish you luck!!
@BillyKaplan **really good
@guerrillarain Yeah, I would attempt that, but I'm not black, and don't want to appropriate (Plus even if that were not an issue I hate how corn rows feel, back in grade school my friends mother would always put my hair in corn rows when i stayed the night lol) I've been trying to learn some Celtic braids, because they are similar in the way that they braid down close to the head. But I still have trouble trying to make sure my hair doesn't look to bunched up.
@BillyKaplan ahhh good luck, it's definitely an art form. 😓
@guerrillarain Good luck to you as well!! I hope you find a hat that will fit and is affordable (because I once saw a floppy summer hat that was $70!!!!! Hat prices can get crazy expensive, lol)
@BillyKaplan oh noooo I like to think about my purchases in terms of cup ramen. if it costs too much cup ramen, it's rarely ever worth it.
@guerrillarain That's a wonderful way of thinking lol! I'm going to start dong that. "Hmmm, I don't think this shirt is worth it, It cost the same as 35 cup ramen" Really puts things into perspective I guess!
@BillyKaplan I've gotten ready good at braiding my hair into corn rows so that it lays down *very* nicely, and then sticking a wigcap on top. but braiding took me ~6 months to keep it small and moderately neat.
