Played Pandemic: Legacy Season 1 with UK friends, then moved back to the US before Season 2 came out. I really should've been thinking about board game continuity when I made all these transatlantic life decisions.
brb, rewriting mirageos in #spookylang http://spookylang.com/

Winter is coming. Cat is ready.
And a new release of decompress #OCaml #zlib - https://discuss.ocaml.org/t/ann-decompress-0-7/995
found this excellent bit of #antifa #embroidery outside my favorite bike shop today ๐ช๐ธ
sick of machine learning hype ...
somebody at work just linked an article titled "Stunning AI Breakthrough Takes Us One Step Closer to the Singularity"
the breakthrough? the next gen of google's AlphaGo program beat the original AlphaGo 100-0. it is impressive!
but getting better at reinforcement learning on a specific task doesn't mean machines are magically going to be superintelligent anytime soon
DevOpsDays Madison is coming up quick! 30th and 31st October in beautiful Madison, WI, USA which goes VERY BIG for Halloween. ๐
I'll be talking about integrating fuzzing into your development process: https://www.devopsdays.org/events/2017-madison/program/mindy-preston/ , come see it! I, uh, don't have a costume yet
welp, trapped forever.
I finished my first bit of #embroidery with bead couching! I wanted it to look both extremely blingy and a bit serious, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
The cashier at the bead store thought it was too small and fiddly, and it definitely was small and fiddly, but apparently that's kind of my jam.
It's eventually going to be part of a laptop sleeve, but I have another elaborate project to finish for another of the surfaces first...
I was warned that eventually some `git log` of mine would bottom out here, but you're never really prepared for it to happen to you.
I hear #introductions are a thing here, so here's an #introduction!
I'm big on petting cats and complaining about computers. I like board games and text adventures, running fuzzers, raking leaves, eating piles of vegetables, looking at the sky, finding the best thump spot on friendly dogs, riding bicycles, and lots of other broadly popular, pleasant things.
I write a lot of OCaml, but I don't speak French, which is embarrassing.
I do a lot of silly embroidery projects and I like photographing them!
I was mindypreston (my wallet name) over on the private bird social network.
I write longer-form stuff at https://somerandomidiot.com !
so far, I'd review this Friday the 13th pretty favorably!
