[your hourly rate] = ([your cost of living] ÷ [your expected number of billable hours]) × ([retail value multiplier you believe your quality of work entails] + [25% to 50% depending on your confidence])

Finding that more of the social justice related work I’ve been doing in the last few months is as a catalyst and matching people to ideas to projects and helping folks synthesize their own ideas—rather than working on projects. Partially because I’m still looking for what I want to be doing, but also because I don’t really have energy to sit down and hack stuff out.
