To end Saturday’s talk on content strategy as a tool for social justice, I’m returning to a perennial favorite quotation.
“We can’t change the whole system overnight. But we need to know what we would put in its place.” from Grace Lee-Boggs’ Next American Revolution witches.town/media/0cDIlGFnUHR

@Dhveszak I suspect the answer is “yes, but…” with caveats on database structure, code complexity, and server resources.

@Dhveszak ah! sadness. i can imagine a few reasons why…but maybe someone else will create a fork with the feature

I’d love an “Post locally” privacy setting that is only visible to people on this specific instance.

WOOO just had an amazing interview. Round 2 in a week or two.

yup. a lot of feels about the science march. all of them angry.

Apparently my marathon of conferences/hackathons/workshops were suppressing all the feels I have about the . But it all suddenly hit me when I just remembered that if it wasn’t for me, the first and only presidential science debate (between two senior science advisors to the campaigns) would never have happened and that I am, in fact, a science policy expert—even if a nonpracticing one.

Dammit. My mother is doing a 3–week trip to Taiwan and S Korea and offered to pay for me to go with them. But if I don’t have a job by next month I’m screwed. Which means I can’t go on an extended trip.

Doubly ugh because I want to plan a food, democracy, and civictech research trip to both in the next few years.

@lifewinning story of my life. *although* becoming a manager somehow made me suddenly *really good* at using management software—which all went away the moment I was left to my own devices again. so maybe it’s not that you need a manager, but you need to *be* a manager 😂😭

I look forward to finding a Mastodon instance I can recommend for men looking for a community built around nurturing healthy masculinity the same way witches.town is specifically for building a community for strong feminism.

@lifewinning i find the same problem—i’ve used most of them as part of a team, but for myself none last. I think that for some of us task management and productivity tools just don’t work without it being part of a community of practice

: How do you support your mentees while also managing your own limited energies?

A an essay I submitted to a magazine 4 month ago finally got rejected and all I feel is relief because I don’t have to edit yet another thing 😂Presenting 5 different talks/workshops in 6 weeks was idée plutôt terrible.
