@roastbeest I guess it's really a question of how language will evolve. Will we still disagree in a format that we feel the word "protest" represents?
Patriarchy is an interesting point, though. Feminism is way more main-stream than anarchism right now, so we might manage to get rid of patriarchy on the way to getting rid of the rest of the -archies.

Interestingly, the two most used definitions of anarchy (the choas/war one and the no-rulers political theory one) grew up pretty much in parallel.
This is a really good article about it, if you're interested - https://humaniterations.net/2017/06/14/your-freedom-is-my-freedom-the-premise-of-anarchism/
@roastbeest what things that people protest will still exist once the state withers?
All I can come up with at the moment is animal rights stuff.
@cphuntington97
I used to have this vague dream about a centralized planet-wide system that would ensure equality but Totally Isn't Communism™
Now I dream about being myself, my own master, whole and free, taking part in a distributed planet-wide network of every human being who is each, themselves, their own master.
I dream about we could build and achieve if we did not have to ask for permission from the few people who control the majority of the resources.
But on the real, it's the capitalist paradigm of extraction and exploitation that is the reason that you *have* to choose one thing to do for 40 hours each week.
Capitalism has given us a world where when business owners act ethically we gasp and applaud.

The excellent consonance, assonance, and rhythm of this sentence is messing with my ability to vehemently disagree with you. >.<
Will protest exist once the state does not?

Fun fact : when I fill a bottle of water and spill water in the process, my inner fremen is scolding me.
@cphuntington97 I believe the technical term for what you're referring to is "capitalism"
Hell yes to this. The same bloody-minded, extractionist, exploitative, colonial paradigm that fucks over people and the environment with coal power plants can do it just as well with renewable energy.

Want to clean up litter in your neighborhood and make cheap wearable art/propaganda at the same time? Wanna transform trash into treasure? Make some rubbish pins:
bottle cap + can tab + safety pin = rubbish pin (then paint like a circle 'A' for anarchy on it or something)
