In my reasons to use LaTeX, pleasing the teacher is the chaotic ones.
Lawful good: it's more powerful for documents making more than 10 pages
Lawful evil: I don't want other people to edit my documents
Neutral good: it's free software
True neutral: I was bored so I gave it a try

Chaotic good: the font rendering is much better

I believe you just need to contain the third-party program "somewhere" instead of installing it as root. What a backpat!
Also can we collectively laugh at Numerama complaining that with Qubes OS you can't install third-party programs as root when you can install anything from github with git clone or go get

D'ailleurs j'aimerais ajouter à ce toot un exemple: j'étais aux vacances au Japon avec ma mère, dans un voyage organisé, et on était avec un médecin qui disait n'importe quoi sur la linguistique («leur langage est trop rigide, nous sommes les créateurs, ce sont les imitateurs» ok what about China bro).
Le fait qu'il soit médecin n'implique en rien qu'il connaisse les implications informatiques de la grammaire ou de la conjugaison japonaises, qu'il ne connaît pas; les deux informations sont indépendantes.
Quelqu'un de très gentil (ms un peu réac) et à qui j'ai fait de la peine, sans le vouloir, en paraissant l'attaquer publiquement (ce n'était pas mon but).

Quand j'utilise le terme «informatique» pour désigner les informations qui peuvent courir sur un nerf, il est évident que lorsque deux informations sont indépendantes l'une de l'autre (par exemple, le fonctionnement des DNS et la composition du noyau terrestre) il est possible d'être très compétent sur l'une et carrément lourd sur l'autre.
