First try of #Wire. Video called #Daddy_A, talked with him, #Little_Boy_A, #Baby_A2. Baby_A2 didn't talk or wave, but his smile almost wrapped around his head. (He's the one who was not in a people-meeting mood when I saw him in person.) #Baby_A3 was asleep. #Mama_A said hi briefly, then faded into the background. (I'll try to get her to engage more in the future. When someone marries into my family, I want to build a relationship with them as well as continue to enjoy the relationship you have with your family member.)
@stragu @bobjonkman The Android app is #GPLv3 https://github.com/wireapp/wire-android/blob/master/LICENSE ... the iOS app will have a different license, as Apple is copyleft-hostile.

@lnxw48a1 @bobjonkman ... And I have heard Wire recently released their server code. Not sure about the licence though.

@Wire has published their server source with an AGPL 3.0 license. But apparently build instructions are lacking, so I'm not sure if it's actually possible to build a working server. https://github.com/wireapp/wire-server/blob/develop/LICENSE
Not the @Wire I was thinking of. Need enforced fully-qualified user names, dammit!

@bobjonkman Well they may host their own instance on their official domain. I saw an offer for a pro-bono self-hosted instance like 6 months ago. 🤷
