I was thinking about something about macOS vs. plain bash:
– on a Macintosh you have like 8 buttons, leading to 12 functionalities each, with 6 ways to use it;
– on plain bash, you need to learn the 576 functionalities through 43 binaries from the Unix manual.
I'm really glad that I run GNU (and I'm going to install OpenBSD rather soon) because it keeps me used to some cognitive effort and, if anything, because it emphasizes one's curriculum and cover letters as an anthropology or journalism student and conversely because it emphasizes my humanities background when applying for a tech job.
