Again for the newbies, content warnings are not censorship. cws are to allow folks who need warnings to handle posts that could hurt them on their own terms.
Censorship is being kicked off your instance for being a racist or driving other users to suicide or self harm. You can see where censorship isn't even a bad thing right?
I really, really hate people who attack others for caring about things, or for having strong opinions, or because they are passionate. It's teenager bullshit. It's how bullies work. It's why nerds have been the scapegoats in the past and it's why people who care about the environment or social issues are a target now.
Worst of all, it's lazy. If you're not passionate then you're wasting everything and one day you'll die and nobody will care. Roar.
a thing i really want to see is a movement towards making coding more accessable by both making better tutorials and better, more sensical syntax, creating community change (to be more new person helping friendly) and for us to actually consider changing the basics for the better (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pTEmbeENF4 ) so that finally you saying 'just code it if you want it changed, our devs arent being paid' you arent just being nonconstructive

When some people talk about filter bubbles and how it's good to burst them, they are almost always speaking in favor of centrism. "A person on the left should read right-leaning thought that they didn't agree with." But what about a left-learning person reading even-more-radical left-wing thought? That is still exposing yourself to new/uncomfortable ideas that challenge your beliefs.
I just find it curious that some people think "bursting your filter bubble" naturally lends itself to centrism.
im thinking very very hard about the furby debug menu aesthetic....
there are men on the fediverse terrified by the very presence of witches.town and that's the most fucking on-brand thing
Feeling a lot more confident about Mastodon's software project now Afficher plus

(1/2) I was on Twitter for like 10 minutes and heard about the following March for Science incidents, which seem to come from very credible sources (CW: oppressive harassment on multiple axes, violence, etc.): Afficher plus
liberal feminism (feminism without class consciousness) has become the favourite method of corporations to appear empathetic and counter-culture without actually challenging the underlying structures that oppress the most vulnerable women, it's amazing to watch so much noise and money come from it that amounts to absolutely nothing

B: "Sure buddy, sure. Don't worry, you don't gotta be coy here. I know what ya like." ;)

Here is my undertale userstyle! I only tested it with vanilla mastodon so YMMV! https://gist.github.com/blackle/cb3e51802bfcc2ed815b6ddcf902c68b https://icosahedron.website/media/-obokx8dKvpCSbhRzhQ
Annual reminder that Y2K was a real problem, solved by countless nerds that did such a good job that everyone though it was just media hype.
Thanks old nerds!
The new Samsung Smart TV. You'll be shocked at how smart it is. You'll be surprised when it shows up at your office and takes over your job. You'll find your wife sitting cross-legged on the living room floor, talking to it like you haven't talked to each other in years. Your children will not love it more than they love you; how could they? But they'll look up to it. And you will know that they never looked up to you at all.
"Now I'll show you why they call me... Revolver"
