they are a nationalist, populist party, they've been in government with both the major left-wing (Labour) and right-wing (National) parties

they oppose, and generally mock, the further right-wing parties (ACT and Conservatives), have been supported by the far-left Mana party, and are usually at odds with the less-far-left Green party

the leader/founder is Māori and hates globalism, neo-liberalism etc. and is anti voluntary-immigration but supports taking asylum seekers and supports the rights of migrant workers

and the current fight with the Greens is because the leader of the Greens called them racist, so...
