But if you're a budding electronic musician and you want to know what to get, here's what you ideally need in descending order of importance:
A support group of people who will non-judgmentally hear your performances and recordings.
A production swiss-army knife, -usually- but not always a DAW (preferably stolen 🏴 )
Any instrument with a lot of expressive depth that you can noodle on at home, away from your desk.
Finally, instruments/equipment that radically upset established "routines".
There's this thing in electronic music where like...people think that buy acquiring new gear, they will suddenly be able to make the music that they never knew they could make, or that the gear will help them realize a part of themselves they couldn't otherwise reach.
Hate to break it to you, but it don't work that way, and you can save yourself a lot of money by just never going down that path.
