@abgd possibly the best approach would be to like. Read the Conquest of Bread AND The State and Revolution and start forming your opinions that way.
Though this is coming from someone who hasn't read either of those.
@transfaerie thanks. I already have a pretty nuanced opinion on the matter and I feel like looking for answers in 19th-century texts is more problem than solution, but my curiosity might lead me to read the both anyway :)

I think there are some groups on fb where I could ask for more recent recommendations, but I think they skew ML. And I'm not into enduring the fight that would most likely break out in the comments.
