So much of the justification for 'market efficiency' is based on the assumption that feedback pathways exist & are effective, when we know from experience that the normal case is completely defective feedback.
Furthermore, these feedback mechanisms are considered actively undesirable by close to every actor (corporation, employer, exec) in any given industry, and enforcement is left up to competition/undercutting, which is actually really uncommon.
