The Pioneer Valley Workers Center fights wage theft, ICE, and capitalism across the Pioneer Valley, the 2nd largest metro area in Massachusetts & the most impoverished general region of the state. We don't get much attention compared to Boston but we have a massive immigrant and working class population who ICE and capitalists love to pick on because we are considered the most progressive region of the state. We do everything from suing employers to to barricading federal buildings
I'm 84% of the way to meeting my fundraising goal for the Pioneer Valley Workers Center; I appreciate all of your support in this endeavor so much. If we can hit 100% not only will that hit my personal fundraising goal it will also finish off the end-of-year goal for the Pioneer Valley Workers Center; primarily due to support from Mastodon.

@sydneyfalk Yeah, I love actual nature, EXCEPT that I have a paralysing fear of flying insects that stops me from actually enjoying it. :( So I desperately want a video game that recreates all the exciting serendipity of a nature walk without the chitinous hell-beasts.
@sydneyfalk My big gripe with the current crop of scenic exploration games, though, other than the excessive focus on resource exploitation as a central mechanic, is that animal behaviours are so flat. I want to play the game today fixes that.
@sydneyfalk I would back that Kickstarter.
@sydneyfalk I want Naturalist/Birding Simulator 2k18.
Which is maybe that Walden game? IDK.
I guess there is something I love more than Plums jokes

@Sargoth Eh, that one was terrible and needed to go. But now they're going after the One Planet Challenge, which hurt nobody. And then there's the thing about forcing everyone to play hyperlanes.
@Sargoth "We noticed some people found a way to play the game other than rushing to colonise every insignificant rock nearby, so we fixed that."

I'm still chuckling about that "Jim Halpert is King of the Whites" thing from Patriothole.

Patreon fee update: what it REALLY means for creators Afficher plus
Mario Odyssey knows what chord is playing on the soundtrack and uses that info when playing musical sound effects.

Let's suppose you pledge $1 per post on #Patreon to someone who publishes content once per week. Right now you spend $4 (before VAT) every month and, if I understood correctly, you will soon spend ($1 * 1.029 + $0.35)*4 = $5.52 per month.
But if you pledged $4 per post and limited your donation to only one time per month, you would spend $4 * 1.029 + $0.35 = $4.47, saving $1.05 per month.
The creator would get $4 * 0.95 = $3.80 in both cases.
As of now, I proudly support 14 creators on #Patreon. Last November my pledges plus VAT amounted to $27.21.
With the new service fee Patreon is going to implement in a few weeks, I would have paid $35.13 – that is $7.92 (€ 6.71) more. I can afford it, I guess, and if it is still the best way to support my favourite creators, I'll begrudgingly adapt to this change.
But the thing I am most appalled about is that I learned about this from Mastodon, not from Patreon itself...
@cassolotl Well, that's some bullshit.
With the new #Patreon payment structure, *patrons* pay a fee on top of their pledge, as well as patreon taking a (now smaller) cut from the creator's balance.

I made a little spreadsheet to help me work out what the heck was going on in actual numbers.
So if I'm supported by 50 $1 pledges, I get $47.50, but supporters pay nearly $70.
