The indictment contains 12 counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

AP reports that the DOJ has indicted Paul Manafort on charges of conspiracy against the US and money laundering, among others. CNN reports that Manafort is surrendering in to the FBI.

Context: Manafort is a longtime Republican operative who was Trump’s campaign manager from June-August 2016; he recommended Mike Pence for the VP slot. He also has a long history of lobbying for foreign powers, including Ukraine and, by proxy, Russia.
