Man, what the heck happened to the back half of Wolfenstein 2? Gameplay-wise, that is.
The first half is pretty tight, the stealth and gunplay coexisted pretty well. The Courtroom sequence was nasty, but it was kind of supposed to be a hopeless fight. I hate that kind of design, but I get what it was going for.
The shoehorned open world shit is anti-fun, though. Like, you've got the commanders still but you can't ghost your way to taking them out before getting into firefights like you could before. And that sudden change bleeds into the story missions, too.
Wolfenstein 2 spoilers, maybe Afficher plus
And, like, the enemies are SO SPONGY. Even the regular Nazis are wearing body armour by the end, so you need like half a clip of Sturmgewehr ammo to take one of them out. And it makes the SMG even more worthless than it already was.
I dunno, I feel like there's A Story in this. Or maybe they just had to rush to get it out the door.
