@joXn @theycallmemo I had to stop caffeine when I started Ritalin, I can have either one with no ill effects but the combination makes me anxious. Which is apparently a common effect. Fortunately my cravings also stopped, as soon as my brain learned what real drugs are like it stopped caring about weak substitutes.
Caffeine never made me sleepy though, it doesn't calm my brain down effectively enough.

@theycallmemo same for me. I found that coffee doesn't have the get-you-going effect on me that other people report, but too much caffeine does cause anxiety and withdrawal symptoms when I stop.
Adderall works on me like coffee is supposed to. And Amphetamine is a much stronger drug than caffeine. So your mom is definitely overreacting.
