I haven’t been on #birdsite in over two months. I still believe in the potential of mastodon, but it needs a whole lotta work. Three things I would like to see/help improve:
1) More diversity of people and convo, esp. more black and brown folks.
2) #News - birdsite was an incredibly effective/efficient news aggregator for me. The elephant is not at all.
3) Humans that I know. The ppl on mastodon are great, but I have yet to come across a single person that I’ve met in real life.

The news idea is good, but I’m curious about how it would be executed, and how it would work considering that Mastodon is used internationally (so is 
, but I mean actually trying to include news from places besides the US)
The part about humans you know is most easily solved by inviting people you know irl to join! I’ve done it before, but I must advise that you prepare for a lot of questions about using it
