Today I was deadnamed by a computer
@theycallmemo This seems like a good time to invoke some wisdom I was given at graduate school, which is that computers are bad, actually, and they don't know how to do anything at all that a person doesn't tell them to do. (I went to school for computer stuff, LOL.)

And the nurse’s computer both deadnames AND misgenders me. A one two punch of bullshit
Although I think the grand prize for most ridiculous deadname/misgender I have ever experienced was when my guidance counselor sent out an email to my teachers that said “SHE prefers they/them pronouns”.
I’m still confused about that one.

@theycallmemo Ok, but to be fair, humans are also bad, actually.
But yeah, that was like when my mom first started to talk to me about trans issues (because I guess as a cis queer woman who once shaved her head, I was the best person to talk to about this?), she would be really good about recognizing a person's gender but struggled so hard to get the pronouns down. Like, no, they didn't used to be x and now they are y-- they were always x, and we refer to past them as x.
