That was, with the most charitable reading I can muster, a good cast in a very bland and highly derivative film;
at worst, it was also so anti-science and fearmonger-y that I'm surprised Kirk Cameron didn't make a cameo. It also did not do great by its female characters.
The best thing I can say is the distribution method worked out for the best, because if I had paid to see this in a theater I would have been pissed.
I don't even want to address the very ending before I have some time to ruminate on it a bit more.
I loved Cloverfield and 10CL but I worry they'll become more concerned with the escalating gimmick surrounding the announcements than the movies themselves.
