corporate nonsense Afficher plus
@swordjaw Doing that today. (Actually sick time, but still. Feel guilty/nervous about it every single time.)
@Paperclippe Why is this such nonsense, uuugh.
I hope you feel better, though! 🌱
@Paperclippe ...yeah...YEAH... That's the feeling I get, too! Like somebody's going to criticize me for taking time off that I've accrued. Thanks for putting it into words.
I wonder what they'd have to change policy- or atmosphere-wise to stop this sentiment? (This is mostly rhetorical, I'm not expecting an answer, djgdkggk)
@swordjaw I feel like the fact that you have to "earn" PTO (whether it's given to you at the beginning of the year as sort of an up-front payment for the assumption that you're going to Do Hard Work as the Cog that You Are, or that you earn it month by month as a reward for Putting in the Time) is part of the problem. It's not a guarantee; you get vacation because humans need time away from work.
But I dunno. It's always just felt weird and kind of... bribey?
