@Sparrow i do this! when i'm by myself i like things generally quiet and movie audio nerds are especially fond of their extended dynamic ranges so in order to keep shouting down i end up pulling the not shouting too far down to discern and so subtitles are a godsend.
@mahou 4.0b is also definitely worth a look – a whole lot got added to it before the project got canceled.

Hey, if you're not immunocompromised and don't have an egg allergy, GET YOUR FLU SHOT.
Also, vaccinate your kids. Against everything, even the classics we haven't seen for a bit (e.g. measles, mumps, rubella). Give them the HPV vaccine before they complete puberty, so that they have it before they're remotely sexually active.
Diseases are no joking matter. Prevent them where possible. In some places, measles kills up to 1 in 20 kids it infects. Some strains of HPV cause cancer. Don't risk it.
