@Tom good shot also that bokeh makes me miss my old petri 55/1.8 screwmount

@spinach bought this lens for 100€ almost new and it's quickly becoming my fav lens ever slime.global/media/eHzqSQXKmNQ

@spinach I'm honestly so bored of lenses with "perfect creamy" bokeh, I find it much nicer when lenses have, like you said, personality.

@spinach a couple of years back, I used to be really keen on getting the objectively "best" image quality but fuck that

of course it's nice if I wanna do something professional looking but if I'm trying to make actual art (which is kinda the point), it just makes everything look sorta clinical and spotless imho

@Tom the push for more cleanness and sharpness is extremely offputting, but there is some benefit in that loads of sweet lenses get damn near thrown out all the time. lotta good old japanese and russian lenses out for a song, usually in screwmount m42 or m39 and easy to adapt.

@spinach that's true! kinda like that time in the 90s when everyone threw out their old synths bc "analog is dead, digital is the hot new thing!"

@Tom @spinach

Ooh, nice lens! And on an OM-D!

I liked Olympus for a long time. I used an OM-PC for film SLR.

@ThatDamnCat @spinach thanks! yeah I made the switch to mirrorless when the E-M10II came out, I was using Nikon DSLRs before that

@Tom @spinach

I'm using a Canon T6s right now and I like it a lot but it has a mirror.

I still want to go large sensor

@ThatDamnCat @Tom my k20D is nearing its tenth birthday and is mirrored as fuck. been pining over other digital cameras some but mostly i shoot film now.

@spinach the only one I miiiight like a bit more is the Sigma 18-35/1.8 I had
