@envgen @body my take is that the 303 (clones or otherwise) is incredibly butch the microkorg is firmly futch and the DX7 is incredibly femme

@sickasfrick @envgen @body i remember discussing this a while back, and this was def my take too!

i think maybe my argument for inverting the DX7's categorization was that it was, to all intents and purposes, the first polysynth anyone owned that had velocity sensitivity, and also its additive nature means it - by default - creates smooth waves with little harmonic content rather than rough sharp waves which you then have to tame
