@spiderrobotpig figures digital R'lyeh would be most at home in the depths of DigitalOcean
So, harnessing TOR /sounds/ cooler
But DigitalOcean seems better.
Still gonna be Cthulhu themed tho
This is the real chaos technomancy
for the record you can use quicklime to heat a pool if you're careful but i wouldnt recommend it
WE NEED PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND HIDDEN SERVICES AND TOR TO HELP US BUILD THIS ELDRITCH ABOMINATION OF AN INSTANCE LEGGO
@spiderrobotpig CTHULHU IS PLEASED
BUT CAN WE MAKE IT WORK BY HARNESSING TOR?
WE SHALL FIND OUT
So is there no way to run a Masto instance without port forwarding?
We are super disappointed :<
SO MUCH WORK AND HELP FROM OTHER PEOPLE
spiderrobotpig@spiderrobotpig-Aspire-F5-573G:~$ ruby -v
ruby 2.4.1p111 (2017-03-22 revision 58053) [x86_64-linux]
Seriously what kind of sorcery is this?
Kay, rbenv problem we can't seem to figure out.
rbenv version acknowledges that we're using 2.4.1
But bundle install --deployment --without development test says we're using 2.3.3
Which is just super frustrating.
We've modified bashrc and we're kinda at a loss now tbh
OKAY
We should probably follow ALL the steps in the tutorial tbh.
This is going to work better now
Us: *tries to make a Masto instance*
