If this makes sense to anyone, please help, I really don't want to have to make yet another fresh install

*fucking shrug*

@c1t7 @staticsafe Thanks, I have one more thing I'm trying before I head to work

Last idea before I head out to work.

Swapped the mastodon user with the postgres user and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe that'll work

@c1t7 @staticsafe Nop, that just broke it again -_-

Looking like yet another fresh install and I guess just hoping it works this time?

@c1t7 @staticsafe Apparently I didn't have it installed at all >.>

KK GONNA TRY SOMETHING

@c1t7 Yeah, but when I try to do that, then it just gives me an error saying there isn't a postgres user

@c1t7 *nodnod*

Guess I'll just have to start fresh? Cos the instructions I was using (The only ones that gave me a bootable system), don't even mention making a postgres user?

So maybe I don't need to do that and it's something else entirely...but it's definitely having permission issues with the database, and I can't really think of a different thing to do unless I just install everything as root and hope for the best?

@c1t7 I don't even know HOW I did it. But I went in to see why I can't upload anything, and then I was like "Maybe it's the user permissions for the database" and then I go to log into postgres to check and there's no postgres user >^<

Huh.

Somehow I built the system without a postgres user?

So....that's probably my problem right there tbh

Gonna check my postgresql user's permissions. Cos it's something with the database, and I'm thinking it just doesn't have the correct permissions?

Anyone have idea idea what could be causing uploads to fail?

Gonna rebuild everything and hope that helps

Shit.

I installed the docker stuff under a non-root user, and I'm thinking that might be my issue cos PGHero.

Hopefully that's fixable

@codeawayhaley I'll figure it out tomorrow >^< just glad it's running tbh

@codeawayhaley @spiderrobotpig weird, following outside works now. Think I can at least get federation up now

@codeawayhaley @spiderrobotpig tried that, cant get it to interact either way.

Also uploads in general are failing, so I guess something got installed wrong?

@codeawayhaley yeah, I thought that, but I can't search people and it won't let me import my followers atm

So...I'm having issues starting federation?

Definitely a future me problem tbh
