Une Goupelin Autiste @spiderrobotpig

So shitposter.club is confirmed trash, and most instances should block them.

@RexfordGTugwell the thing is, trans twitter is noting but shitposts, we just aren't dogpiling racists.

I'm tired of shitty people taking over good things

@spiderrobotpig Another victory for the method of basing judgements upon incredibly obvious evidence

@bstacey I didn't even realize until I got hit with racist memes because I dared suggest that maybe FOSS culture isn't very inclusive to minorities

Then I saw that toot after @ ing the server owner, and yah. Literally word for word what I was saying.

@spiderrobotpig What kind of granularity does Mastodon have for users opting into/out-of blocks? I'm curious with the obvious rising need for individual communities (cultivated into instances) curating their own social media experience.

@kytsune AFAIK, it's all handled Instance-wide.

However, there is apparently ways to code it into a per-person basis.

@spiderrobotpig Thanks for the info. I am not sure where to look for the technical options (just got here) but I suspect that is certainly part of the network's growing pains.

@kytsune Yeah. I know Mastodon has a github repo, so most of the code is there. Also it's a fork of GNU social, if I'm not mistaken, so most of that should play together nicely as well.

@spiderrobotpig how about just... not following people from there?

@sir Because that's not how the federated timeline works, and also I'm not following anyone from there.

They decided to dogpile me with racist memes.

@spiderrobotpig would be nice if individual users could block an entire instance rather than defederating entirely

@sir I totally agree. On the flip side, if an instance is breaking the CoC of another instance, there is no reason for them to interact

@junglestrike Personally?

I suggested that FOSS culture had an issue with minorites, and then they saw the thread in federated and decided that dogpiling me with racist memes was a great idea.

And their admin is a dickhole.

@gsora Their response to their users harassing people with racist memes is "just block them".

@spiderrobotpig I like how all this works though, if the users of your instance don't follow the sp club members then you aren't likely to see them in the federated timeline.

@LinuxSocist You actually won't, if I'm not mistaken. But if just 1 person follows someone from that server, everyone sees all of sp club in the federation.

They're blacklisted on our server tho so I don't have to worry about it haha

@spiderrobotpig That's odd, I see moonman and one other but they are the only ones I have seen so far.

@spiderrobotpig That is if your instance hasn't blocked sp club already.
