I think if I try and do another mastodon instance, I'll just create something new, because witches.academy wasn't really working plus witches.town is awesome.
Maybe I'll go with something more adult-oriented?

Part of the issue is it never federated correctly, and even with a fresh install it wasn't working.
May need to use a different host and work it from there tbh
@spiderrobotpig @sempervirenx I use Nanobox and have very little configuration to get up and running. Support for it is built in to 1.4.1, even. Did an article detailing everything a new admin needs to get it going, if you'd be interested in that.
Also, kinky.business is dedicated to NSFW. It definitely needs more girlcock.

You should be able to skip to the Deploying An Instance bit, if all the stuff about how I set it up so you wouldn't have to deal with most things isn't interesting to you. That's mostly meant to show how Nanobox isn't too tricky to work with, and what decisions I've made on new admins' behalf - all based on best practices, promise! It's not really necessary to get started.

@spiderrobotpig Heh, you mentioned it earlier in the thread, so no worries.
That's one of the biggest reasons I suggest Nanobox - it handles almost all the system administration stuff for you, so you don't *need* to understand it. :-)
