Anyone have Science Fiction (not fantasy) recommendations for a very precocious feminist ten year old?
My kid is old enough now to read books I loved as a young adult -- and this, it turns out, is more nerve-wracking than either my childhood delights or my more-recent favorites.
These are the Nice White Ladies that I read as a baby feminist. They skew cis-het-white, for the most part, with all the shortcomings you'd expect. I can't blame her if she hates them.
@paulczege "If you want to give an RPG designer the best creative gift ever, run their RPG with them as player."
This, good lord yes. I have never played Paranoia. Not once. I have only ever GMed it. And I'd be the first to admit I am not a great Paranoia GM.

oh, *wow*. "Sings the Hits" is a remarkable piece of theatre. Feminist, satisfying, just enough mystery, lovely music. There are only two performances left; if you can catch this one, I recommend it.

(and I'm not just saying that 'cuz I know the playwright.)
I will be amused if it's Mastodon and dice.camp that finally leaves my G+ circles silent.
@racerxmachina I have worn the shawl, and lo, I am glad, for it is really freaking chilly on this theater.
The report I'm doing on my survey on sexual harassment in indie rpgs, larps, and spaces is a rough one.

Survey ends tomorrow and I've just got a LOT of stuff to look at. It's gonna be huge. Might break it down. Please respond if you can and share in any case!
A lot of Indy Comics Twitter has descended upon Mastodon.social, grinding @Gargron's image server to a halt.
If y'all decide you’re serious about this place, let me make a suggestion: if you’re part of a collective, then maybe your group should think about running an instance. If nobody in your collective is crazy enough to start one from scratch, there’s always places like masto.host, which make it pretty damn easy.
Also consider throwing a little $ into the Patreon for both whatever instance you end up on, and/or for overall Mastodon development. We don’t have VC or advertisers paying the bills, let’s keep it that way.
If I decide that wearing a black blazer is too fussy for a Tuesday evening theatre performance am I then absolutely ridiculous to pull out a hand-knit shawl instead?
Okay, tonight is probably not the night to wear the floor - length black silk circle skirt, dammit.
