hey, mastofriends: Your #Inktober posts are amazing. Thank you for sharing with the world.

My housemate was encouraging me to join them in nanowrimo, but that's super-silly; I have never aspired to do anything novel-length. I've been chewing on the writing thing for awhile, though. Until my kid hit toddler-age, I wrote regularly. Nonfiction essays, mostly, and a bit of smut. And then there was the "can't string two thoughts together" phase of parenthood, then the brain fog of my health, and then suddenly here's another thing I used to enjoy that I haven't done in years.

*happy squeak* today I put a deposit down on a new pair of glasses frames by my favoritest designer. This does much to alleviate the gnash I've been feeling about trying progressives again.

@starkatt my two kinda-femme hoodies came from, I think, j. crew & the gap. Not normally in the $30 range (especially the j crew) but maybe an outlet store?

Nonsensically, I believe the lavender velour hoodie from the gap came from their underwear department -- apparently velour is a lingerie fabric?

My saved game didn't migrate properly from my previous gaming rig & I haven't yet had the heart to restart. But it's coming, eventually. I miss my silly fanfic family.

If I keep posting lewd bits over here I should follow more AD accounts, I think.

I should find something to *do* tonight so I don't try to go to bed mid-afternoon...

Well, that was far more eventful than one prefers when boarding an airplane. But we all made it onto the plane.

Another facet of my humiliation kink is less fun & lighthearted. It's a response to a perceived negative judgment from my lover - to disappointment, or disgust, or similar. I don't just blush, but feel a squirm of shame, an urge toward debasement, lessening of worth.

To play with that, part of me, for a moment, has to believe it. Or the emotional blow doesn't land.

That feels scary & requires absolute trust before & after that they don't mean it.

Playing with humiliation there's similarly two kinds for me.

Simple case, I'm doing something and I blush, particularly if I have an audience. I've called that "erotic embarrassment" before and I like it.

Playing with fear: fear of the pain I know is to come is different than fear of a threat, like when a knife is held to my throat. Both situations are fun, but in the latter I have to both know that my lover won't actually hurt me and also suspend that knowledge enough to be afraid.

I was recently reminded (via AO3 tags) of some conversations I've had in the past with people who definitely thought My Kink Was Not Okay.

But rather than just retell those frustrating conversations I'm going to think around the edges, in drips and glimpses, as I rest my feet from time to time in the Rodin museum. And we'll see what shows up in the negative space once I'm done.
