in England we use the whole arm sometimes, but sometimes we just rotate our hand to give you the finger, or bring our arm up so our hand is close to our chest and in front of us to do it that way

It was! I think we do it the same way then. Funny thing is that we were told that it came from french and english archers being shitheads to each other during whatever conflict (i never remember those things) were they would cut the string finger of archers and well it was a way of braging that they didn't get caught. Always wondered if it was actually true

@sempervirenx I was taught that for the double finger one, the middle finger one might have the same origins though
we've fought a lot idk which fight that was tbh
