Hi, I'm SeaW, I'm a #queer #writer from the south of #France. I'm #nonbinary, #aromantic, #asexual, #disabled, and #autistic. I have #depression, #anxiety, and probably a bunch of other undiagnosed stuff. I've recently started doing #hovercatober, which is like #inktober, but with hovercats. (They're cute and you should check them out! Also go ahead and doodle some yourself, 0.2% increase in happiness guaranteed). I'm into #fantasy, medieval reenactment, #music, #overwatch, pacific rim, #tea, snail mail, opera, swordfighting, magic, and simply way too much stuff for the character limit.

Worst case scenario: some instance gets too big and powerful, rewrites the backend to support massive scaling, and cuts off federation the same way GTalk and Facebook cut off XMPP support. But then we're no worse off from where we started with Twitter and Facebook.
One of my favorite features of Mastodon is its inability to ever grow anywhere near the size of a Twitter or a Facebook, at least in terms of a single instance. It's a Rails app on top of a single Postgres database – could any instance ever support more than a small city's worth of active users?
So even if there were 2 billion Mastodon users, there would have to be several thousand servers with several thousand admins, guaranteeing some level of "local sovereignty."
Why do so many sites- tumblr, Twitter ect struggle with the concept that I wanna see posts.

When they post them, not ‘they posted this while you were gone’.
When they post them.
Not someone else’s posts who I don’t follow who is popular.
I wanna see the posts from people I follow at the time they posted them.
