Somehow now listening to Van Canto's version of "Final Countdown." Huh. It's still pretty 🤘

@emaree oh gosh, honey you're a commoner, you shouldn't be fucking with this guy.

Listening to map catalogers talk about new lakes showing up on a map that's 40 years newer than the older lake. It fascinates me. Were they there before? Were they artificially created in that time? Did they naturally develop from ponds or things that didn't "merit" description? Geography is dependent and beautiful and awful.

Appreciated reading this post about resolutions, change, and seasonality. Winter, in the Northern Hemisphere, is a hard time to transform your life. It's not a time of growth, it's still dark so early... so thinking of change and of season and being kind to oneself: littleredtarot.com/january-inc

@ruth Considering doing the same, I think its good to acknowledge the benefits of therapy and how other people helped you grow publicly.

yet an unexceptional, rambunctious librarian is about to discover the true meaning of barbarism... in the Twilight Zone.

Sometimes I want to respond to compliments with “thanks, I’ve had a lot of therapy.” It’s culturally weird and sounds dismissive but... I don’t want people to get confused and think I got here on my own. That’s not for every compliment, but... there’s a number of things for which therapy has made me a much more functional person.

this is my mech, I SHOULD BE WRITING

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand how the fightboys in Yakuza tear their shirts off!

@Gargron Alternate take: all cryptocurrency is a scam.

Broadening a thought: We'd be better off if we stopped talking about "the internet of things" and started talking about "computers don't always look like we expect them to".

Instead of saying "internet-enabled" it might be wise to say "regardless of what it looks like, that's a computer and you should treat it like one".

"Somebody hacked my fridge!" Yes, your fridge has a computer built into it and you should treat it like a computer (and demand that the manufacturer treat it like one).
