Listening to map catalogers talk about new lakes showing up on a map that's 40 years newer than the older lake. It fascinates me. Were they there before? Were they artificially created in that time? Did they naturally develop from ponds or things that didn't "merit" description? Geography is dependent and beautiful and awful.
