OMG Twitter friends are trying le Mastodon again/for the first time! A note/recommendation... as a rule, the big sites like mastodon.social are OK but you may want to try some smaller places and also follow stuff on your INSTANCE level (vs. the whole Fediverse). I'm on witches.town. I really like the toot.cat space/admin. If you're down with furries, awoo.space is pretty rad. cybre.space for you techier types, I've seen SUCH a better tech culture on there... So those are a few. And remember how we're down w/paying for better Twitter? Tip your admins! <3

- CWs! Hey look, sometimes you can do meta posts and NOT put 666 char on the timeline because of CWs. Use them for content warnings, jokes, blather, things you don't want to shove in faces esp when posting full public.

- You can export all your following from your instance, so if you decide that you don't want to be on mastodon.social but on shark.es (surely that would be a masto, but toot.cat?), you can move! Yay!

- It's gonna be a lot like older/slower Twitter at first if you don't look at local & federated toots & that's ok. Slowly build people to follow. Peep at those but like not always.
