Apparently some people are putting the check by their names to indicate its' the primary instance of their self (vs. just being faux-verified)? I guess this makes some sense but why would you do that when you could add, say, your own version of a bat and a squid?

@ruth is multi-instances a thing, also? Like, non-incidentally? I can't tell if there's a coherent story there, or if it just makes things weird.

@pobocks I mean it's completely impossible to delete @ruth right now so she's living out there and I _could_ use her if I wanted to.

@ruth yeah, that's what I meant by incidental, more or less. But I keep seeing differing statements re: how alienated you are from buddies on other instances.

I find myself using home > federated > local - maybe following primarily home feed means I don't see the problems others are talking about.

@pobocks yeah as a rule I don't think you _have_ to be alienated from those other folks but I think that being on the same local instance and stuff can also be a nice way for double social? If that makes sense. Still sorting my thoughts.

@ruth how bad was the move effort? I keep half-thinking about moving to witches.town just bc so many of my Favorites live there, but still waffling over effort/reward and a weird "if locals don't matter that much, it's fine to do but pointless, and if they do, not sure I fit in enough with vibe to justify"
